Nowadays, people use acrylic paints more than any other kinds that are available in the market. Acrylic paint is the combination of a suspended pigment in the acrylic polymer emulsion. During the preparation, acrylic paints are water-soluble, but after evaporation of water, the paints become water-resistant.  Acrylic paintings, sometimes also resemble oil and water paintings. People who start to paint use these acrylic colors to learn painting as they are better than watercolors.

Acrylic paints are also a result of scientific experiments. Many scientists and chemists were responsible for the invention of acrylic paints. In spite of the various scientists involved, according to earlier investigations, people consider Otto Rohm as the inventor of these acrylic paints. He carried out a number of experiments and tests and later named them as acrylic paints.

A Glimpse Down The Memory Lane Of Acrylic Paint:

The world knows Otto Rohm as the pioneer of acrylic paint. Even though the world knows these paints as the acrylic paints, Otto Rohm first invented these as acrylic resins. Then we turn it into acrylic paints under proper chemical and laboratory treatments. Soon after their discovery, the then markets sold acrylic paints as house latex. The latex that was used inside the house was chemically different than that of the chemical composition of latex that was used to paint the exteriors of the house. The interiors of the house used latex that was prepared with a mixture of water and other chemical components that could be used for the purpose of bindings.

With newer avenues and potentials that could be achieved with acrylic paints, modern techniques came into the market and several brands started to make a business out of it.

Features Of Acrylic Paint:

The modern-day acrylic paint comes in a lot of varieties. This has been done keeping into account how the requirements of the acrylic paints were not singular and were used in a number of diversified forms. The first difference comes when companies used different proportions of pigments to manufacture the paints. The two categories were students acrylic paints and the other being the professional acrylic paints. In the students acrylic paints, the proportion and concentration of the pigments were much lower than those in the professional acrylics. After the mixing of different colors, we see a color shift in student acrylic paints than the professional paints.

The next variety is based on the density or the quantity of water in the emulsion of pigments. On this basis, open acrylics, medium viscous acrylic, and heavy viscous acrylics came in the market.

These days, acrylic paints are easier to use than oil paintings. The sole reason for their usage was their capability to dry up fast than any other painting. Although oil painting gave a fine and shiny texture to the painting, the painting took a larger time to dry up. This curbed the painters to work fast. In acrylic paints, the water dried up fast and the painters never really faced any additional disadvantages.
